When I think of fall, berry toned lippies are the first thing that come to mind. It's like THE color of the season! It can be a little hard to find the perfect berry lip but MAC seems to have us covered this season. Fashion Revival is everything!
If you know me, you know I love me a bright lip. It's just my thing! But Fashion Revival? Completely life changing! It's a deep, slightly warm berry toned red that looks good on everyone. I thought it would be a close dupe for MAC Heaux but it's totally different. Fashion Revival is darker and much less red. It also has that hint of berry that really sets it apart.
This creamy matte lipstick features high colour payoff in a no-shine matte finish. The perfect matte formulation of the iconic product that made MAC famous. See comparison swatches / view dupes. MAC Fashion Revival Lipstick ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a 'deep raspberry.' It's a dark, muted raspberry with a semi-matte finish. The color coverage was very nearly opaque (hint of my lip freckle coming through) with even color application. The consistency was lightly creamy, easy to apply. Fashion Revival glides onto the lips smoothly and evenly with intense pigmentation and the classic MAC vanilla scent. Despite the matte finish, the formula feels very soft and creamy and has a slight sheen upon application. I know some of you prefer a completely sheen-free look but it does seem to fade rather quickly (within an hour or two).
I usually have a bit of trouble with MAC's matte formula but Fashion Revival is surprisingly easy to wear! It doesn't feel drying at all nor does it settle into lip lines or emphasize dry patches. It does seem to bleed a bit so I definitely recommend using a lip liner to lock the color in place. Once you've got it all nice and neat you can sit back and relax for the rest of the day. Or do whatever it is you normally do. Why? Because Fashion Revival will literally last you all day! It wears for around 6-7 hours before I notice the slightest bit of fading. It's definitely the kind of lipstick you'll want to toss in your bag for long days out! The Matte Lip Collection has been out for a little while so you may not be able to find Fashion Revival in stores. However, it's still available online at Nordstrom so I'd hurry over and grab one if I were you!
I love a good matte lip, and when MAC announced this collection, I literally was on pins and needles. I even skipped a LOT from collections prior to this release only because I *THOUGHT* I'd want them all. Thank goodness, only 3 (for now). These are gorgeous and (kind of) unique (well… maybe to my collection, anyway)!
I chose Pander Me (a soft peachy mocha), Fashion Revival (deep raspberry) and Styled in Sepia (cement beige) and I love them all!
Starting off with Pander Me, a nice soft peach mocha shade that will look fabulous on skintones of all types! The texture was soft and creamy and I loved the finish.

Styled in Sepia is an unusual beauty. I grabbed it because I love browns and beiges lately! I loved the texture of this, as well! Free pdf form creator mac.
And, last but not least (definitely not) is the showstopper Fashion Revival. Phew, this is a sight for sore eyes. It's such a perfect berry shade and it goes on so richly, which I adore.
Now, for the comparisons. I don't have the 'dupes' of Pander Me and Styled in Sepia. They are rumored to be Kinda Sexy (from the permanent line) and Riri Nude/Exclusive Event (both limited editions). For Fashion Revival, I have MAC Rebel AND Too Faced Berry.
