For today's post, I'm going to take it back to the basics and talk about some of my favorite setting powders that won't cause flashback when you take photos using flash. Do you remember the Ben Nye banana powder craze? Yeah, I gave into the hype and bought the biggest size they offered, only to end up with a horrible flashback with flash photography. Mac riveting rose. Now, that powder is just sitting in a drawer collecting dust. It has definitely always been a struggle to find a setting powder that won't cause flashback on my complexion. Through trial and error, I've managed to find some favorite setting powders. I figured it would help to share my favorites with those of you who are still looking for a good setting powder that won't cause flashback.
5 Setting Powder that won't cause Flashback
RCMA No-Color PowderThis is a universal colorless setting powder for all skin tones and skin type. What I love about the RCMA No Color Powder is that it doesn't alter my foundation or concealer shade. I use it to set my under-eye concealer and my entire face and it leaves my skin looking flawless. Free pdf form creator mac. Apeaksoft android toolkit 1 1 18 full. I should mention, however, that I don't like this powder for baking on my skin tone because it leaves a noticeable white cast on my face. Instead, I like to press it into my skin with a damp beauty blender for a flawless finish. It's currently my go-to setting powder.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting PowderThere's a reason this product gets so much hype in the beauty community. It is truly amazing and it's my all-time favorite setting powder. It's not colorless like the RCMA powder, but it is finely milled and blurs fine lines and imperfections under the eye like no other. Unlike the RCMA powder, I can get away with baking with the Laura Mercier translucent setting powder without the undesirable white cast.
Sacha Buttercup Setting PowderThe Sacha Buttercup powder is like the banana powder for people with dark skin tone. Like I mentioned earlier, the original banana powder gave me a terrible flashback. The buttercup powder, however, is a finely milled yellow-based setting powder made specifically for people of color. It has a much deeper yellow tone than the Ben Nye banana powder and it photographs beautifully with flash photography. It can be used to set concealer and foundation but I prefer using it to set my under-eye concealer. This is also another one that I can bake with, without having a flashback.
Black Opal Deluxe Finishing PowderThis is a more affordable setting powder that you can find in pretty much any drugstore. I have this powder in the shades medium and deep. I like to use the medium shade to set my under-eye concealer on days when I'm going for a more natural highlight. The deep shade is great for setting my entire face. I love the finish of these setting powders. They remind me of the MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, but in loose form. It leaves a beautiful, natural, glowy finish on the skin, which I love. I don't hear too many people talk about these powders but you should definitely give them a try if you're shopping on a budget.

Now this one is definitely a splurge item as it's on the more pricier side. But if you're looking for a luxury powder that won't cause flashback, this is it! I use the shade #04 to set my concealer and foundation. It's a lightweight, finely milled, smooth powder that blends into the skin nicely, leaving a soft focus finish. It does have some shimmer particles in it, so it's not completely matte. It leaves the skin looking healthy with a slight radiance, which I love.
